Since 1993 with Dublin's finest mix of gritty soul and irresistible Irish charm The Stars From The Commitments – featuring original Commitments stars Kenneth McCluskey (bass guitarist ‘Derek Scully’) and drummer Dick Massey ('Billy The Animal Mooney') and their band have been performing the music from the hit movie.

In 1991 the Alan Parker film The Commitments based on the short novel by Roddy Doyle was released. The Commitments is something of a rags-to-riches story that sees the group fall just short of stardom. The movie received massive international recognition, nominated for Grammy’s and Academy Awards, and won several BAFTA’s and Brit Awards.

Since 1993 The Stars From The Commitments have been continuously touring and performing on a world-wide basis.

The nine-piece band from Ireland has performed more than 1,000 shows to hundreds of thousands of people worldwide at festivals, clubs, theatres, high profile corporate events and VIP parties.

Some of the countries The Stars From The Commitments have performed in are: Ireland, United Kingdom, USA, Canada, Germany, France, Finland, Holland, Austria, Switzerland, Denmark, Oman, UAE, Portugal, Spain, Iceland, Sweden, North & South Africa, India, Norway, Brazil...to name but a few.

On many occasions the band has been invited to perform with soul legends: BB King, Ben E King, Sam Moore (Sam and Dave),Steve Cropper (The Blues Brothers), the late James Brown and Wilson Pickett.

In 2005 to celebrate St Patrick’s Day, The Stars From The Commitments were invited to perform in Capitol Hill, Washington DC for US President George W Bush and Irish Taioseach Bertie Ahern.
